The National Service Scheme - NSS unit was inaugurated with great enthusiasm at Government BSL Senior Secondary School, Sundernagar today on August 13, 2026.
The Chief Guest for the event was Deputy Chief Engineer, BBMB Sundernagar, Shri Kashmir Singh Thakur. His wife was also present on the occasion. The program was presided over by the Principal of the school, Shri Manjeet Singh Narang. The proceedings were conducted by NSS Officer, Shri Vinod Kumar.
The program began with lamp lighting and the National Song. On this occasion, the NSS volunteers took an oath, pledging to serve society and uphold discipline.
Chief Guest Shri Kashmir Singh Thakur said that the NSS motto "NOT ME BUT YOU" helps develop a spirit of service and discipline among students. Principal Shri Manjeet Singh Narang stated that through NSS, students will learn not only social service but also leadership qualities. NSS Officer Shri Vinod Kumar informed that activities like tree plantation, cleanliness drives, blood donation camps, and literacy programs will be organized under NSS.
The program concluded with the National Anthem and a vote of thanks. A large number of students took a pledge to join NSS and serve society.
The school organized a science fair to commemorate National Space Day, led by Principal Manjit Singh. The fair showcased exhibits on mathematics, SST, computer science, and science.
Ishan Chauhan won a gold medal, and five silver medals and two bronze medals were secured by students in a district-level fencing competition held on September 15, 2014. Five players were selected for the state-level competition in Una district, scheduled for November.
The school actively participated in the Swachhata Hi Seva campaign, promoting cleanliness and community engagement. A selfie point was set up near Zero Chawk and BLS police station on September 21, 2024, inspiring students and locals to maintain cleanliness in nearby areas.
In collaboration with Himachal Dental College, a dental examination camp was organized on September 26, 2024, to promote oral health awareness among students from classes 10th to 12th.
A slogan writing competition was conducted under the Swachhata Hi Seva campaign on September 28, 2024, focusing on eco-friendly practices and reducing plastic waste. 88 students participated, divided into two groups, with judges Mr. Satish Banati and Mr. Bhup Singh.

स्वास्थ्य को संपत्ति की तरह सुरक्षित रखना जरूरी : डॉ. रिचा भाटिया
बीएसएल पाठशाला में हुआ फिजियोथैरेपी सत्र का आयोजन
आज दिनांक 6/9/2023 को राजकीय बीएसएल वरिष्ठ माध्यमिक पाठशाला सुंदर नगर में बीबीएमबी प्रशासन के अधीन संचालित होने वाले चिकित्सालय के चिकित्सकों द्वारा पाठशाला के विद्यार्थियों के लिए फिजियोथैरेपी के सत्र का आयोजन किया गया।
प्रातःकालीन सत्र में लगभग 1 घंटे तक चले इस सत्र में डॉ.चंचल गुप्ता ने बच्चों को ऐसे अनेक उपयोगी तरीके बताएं और उनका अभ्यास भी करवाया जो बहुत ही सरल निशुल्क और अति उपयोगी थे । उन्होंने कोरोना काल के कारण तथा लगातार मोबाइल का प्रयोग करने के कारण बच्चों में तथा बड़ों में आ रही शारीरिक विकृतियों की जानकारी देते हुए विद्यार्थियों से आग्रह किया कि वे नियमित रूप से इन तरीकों को व्यावहारिक रूप देते हुए अपनी दिनचर्या का हिस्सा बनाएं, इससे न केवल उन्हें ताजगी और स्फूर्ति महसूस होगी साथ ही साथ उनका पढ़ाई में भी मन लगेगा।
इससे पहले कार्यक्रम को संबोधित करते हुए डॉ.रिचा भाटिया , मुख्य चिकित्सा अधिकारी, बीबीएमबी चिकित्सालय सुंदरनगर ने बच्चों को उनके स्वास्थ्य के प्रति जागरूक करते हुए कहा कि हम सभी को अपने स्वास्थ्य के प्रति हमेशा सजग और सतर्क रहना चाहिए क्योंकि ऐसा करने से हम अपने लक्ष्य को सफलतापूर्वक प्राप्त कर पाते हैं तथा समाज और राष्ट्र के लिए बहुमूल्य और उपयोगी इकाई बनते हैं।
इससे पहले पाठशाला के प्रधानाचार्य
डॉ.एमआर गौतम ने, मुख्य चिकित्सा अधिकारी महोदया को सम्मानित किया। उन्होंने अपने संबोधन में इस कार्यक्रम को समय की मांग और विद्यार्थियों के हित में बताते हुए कहा कि ऐसे कार्यक्रम जहां विद्यार्थियों को स्वयं को जानने का अवसर प्रदान करते हैं वही विद्यार्थियों के माध्यम से अभिभावकों और समाज को भी जागरूक करने का कार्य करते हैं। उन्होंने डॉ.रिचा भाटिया सहित, उपस्थित सभी चिकित्सकों का आभार व्यक्त करते हुए उन्हें विश्वास दिलाया कि आज के इन उपयोगी पहलुओं को पाठशाला अपनी प्रातःकालीन सभा का नियमित हिस्सा बनाएगी। कार्यक्रम से लाभान्वित होने वाले बच्चों की संख्या लगभग 550 रही। इस अवसर पर पाठशाला के सभी प्राध्यापक -अध्यापक उपस्थित रहे।
